Niall Murphy

After the second day's performance the great news came through that Niall Murphy had once again been crowned 'Fiddler of Oriel' in the prestigious competition open to fiddle players from all over Ireland. This was a truly unique achievement which saw Niall win his third consecutive title - in 2009 he won the Junior Fiddler of Oriel returning in 2010 to win the senior title. So he was entering this year with his title at stake. However he rose to the occasion and in a very tough competition got the nod from the 3 judges to complete a unique treble. congratulations Niall.
