The 42nd Annual Concert took place on Sunday March 9th in the main auditorium of the Market Place Theatre in Armagh.
This year's concert was a very special event with over 200 performers on stage in various groupings of instrumentalists and singers. Lynette Fay the BBC presenter hosted the concert. The annual concert is the show piece of the work of the Armagh Pipers Club reflecting the energy of the pupils and the dedicated work of the more than 30 tutors now working in the club.

A wonderful afternoon of great music!

Monday 5th March all students and groups had their final rehearsals in St. Patrick's Grammar School.

Sunday 9th April the Club provided for a wonderful afternoon of music with the Annual Concert. The concert was a great musical success; pupils performed to a very high standard and they also deserve great credit for their discipline on and off the stage during the concert. The newly composed piece '40' by Niall Vallely was outstanding. Teachers have done a tremendous job and we congratulate them on their dedication. The smooth running of such a large-scale event was also due to Brendan & Conor Mallon & Stephanie Makem on and behind the stage, and all the parents who sold tickets and organised the raffle and provided prizes. The raffle made enough to help us cover the expenses of the concert.

This year's concert was a delight for all of us involved in the running of the club. In addition we have had nothing but enthusiastic feedback since. We would particularly like to pay tribute to the hard work of all the tutors who prepared their groups so well. The stage discipline of all the children right from the youngest upwards was impressive as was the quality of the playing and singing some of which was the best ever heard at the annual concert. The discipline off the stage was equally impressive and for this we are indebted to the parents.
The annual concert is the public image of the Armagh Pipers Club and this year's achievement augurs well for our 40th Anniversary celebration next year. A DVD will shortly be available (we hope) so there will be a permanent record of the concert. It is hoped that copies will be ready at a nominal cost by next term. Finally a sincere thank you to everyone responsible for making it all go so well on the day.

Special guests at this year's concert were two very fine singers from Belfast, Jane Cassidy and Maurice Leyden. Both singers host radio programmes and both have recorded CDs.
